Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease. Symptoms include memory loss, confusion, language and communication problems, mood changes, and may eventually lead to a loss of physical function. Based on early prediction of the disease, it is necessary to make immediate treatment of Alzheimer's disease and slow the progression of the disease. We adopted a deep learning-based approach and used 3D MRI image data to construct a hierarchical classification consisting of multiple binary classification models to distinguish Taiwanese patients. In Model 1, we distinguish Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients from other categories of subjects. Subjects without AD were classified in Model 2 as normal (CN) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) based on whether they had the disease. Finally, we used Model 3 to further distinguish AD and MCI patients to obtain better classification results.
